WHAT IS WHO?

▪ World Health Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations that is concerned
with International public health.

▪ It was established on 7th of April 1948 and its headquarter is located in Geneva: Switzerland

▪ It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the research
agenda, setting norms and standards, providing technical support to countries and
monitoring and assessing health trends.

 Nutrition is a critical part of health and development.
